Meet Denise
My name is Denise Tracy, and I’m proud to be running for re-election to the Central Kitsap School Board. For the past three years, I’ve had the honor of serving our community in this role—and I’m seeking your support to continue the important work of helping every student in Central Kitsap find their passion and achieve their dreams.
I’ve lived in Kitsap County for 17 years, and my connection to our schools runs deep. As a stay-at-home mom with four children currently attending Central Kitsap schools, I experience our district from multiple perspectives—parent, volunteer, community member, and school board director. I’m also a substitute paraeducator in a nearby district, and I have spent more than a decade volunteering in classrooms, supporting teachers, and advocating for students of all abilities.
Since being elected in 2021, I’ve served as board president, vice president, and legislative representative. I also served for two years on the Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA) Legislative Committee. In these roles, I’ve worked hard to ensure that our local voices are heard at both the state and national levels. Advocacy is a cornerstone of my service—because every student deserves equitable resources, safe and supportive learning environments, and access to opportunities that match their unique interests and strengths.
One of my top priorities as a school board member is being present. I make it a point to visit schools regularly, not just during official events, but in classrooms where I can listen, observe, and understand what’s working—and where we need to grow. These visits keep me grounded and focused on what matters most: students and their success.
Before joining the board, I held multiple PTSA leadership positions at the local, council, and state levels. That work helped me build strong relationships across the district and gave me valuable insight into how families, educators, and community members can work together to support student learning.
I want every student in Central Kitsap to feel seen, supported, and empowered. That means investing in strong academics, robust career and technical education, access to arts and enrichment programs, and mental health resources. It also means listening—really listening—to the voices of our students, staff, and families.
In my "free" time, you’ll find me cheering from the sidelines at my kids’ sporting events, applauding in the audience at theater performances, or enjoying a dance recital. Like so many of you, I’m a parent first—and I want our schools to be places where every child can thrive. I actively serve in my local church congregation, where I enjoy having another opportunity to work with and support children in our community.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve. I would be honored to earn your vote and continue working together to support the students, staff, and families of Central Kitsap.
