Non-partisanship
In Washington State, school board directors serve in non-partisan roles—and I strongly support that structure. Keeping politics out of school board decisions ensures that our focus stays where it belongs: on students.
Non-partisan leadership allows directors to listen to and serve the entire community, regardless of political affiliation. It creates space for common ground, encourages collaboration, and helps school boards make decisions based on what is best for students—not partisan agendas.
I believe the strength of a school board lies in its ability to bring people together to support student success. That’s why I remain committed to the principle of non-partisan service.
